It is a wooden cabin built with the hands of those who attend it. They have been living in Caño Cristales for more than 40 years and now they are willing to welcome visitors with respect and love who want to stay at home.
You will live an experience with a typical peasant farmer family.
The Don David inn is located in the Madre Selva Nature Reserve, which is a hidden Colombia reserve, which works for the recovery and preservation of an area of 50 hectares in the Caño Cristales sector called the Pailón. He is currently carrying out a forest rescue project that was previously used for overgrazing. The job as Guardians of Mother Earth is to care for and preserve this sanctuary of Colombian biodiversity.

It is the closest accommodation to Caño Cristales. And the place where previously the first foreign explorers of the most beautiful river on the planet stayed in camping. It is 200 meters from the most beautiful areas of the planet.

I had not been able to write and thank them for being aware of us. We really enjoyed the trip, we liked the landscape, the river, we bathed very rich in it, we ate well, we disconnected completely because there was no signal and two hours of daily charging was not enough for the cell phone. Mr. Armando was very kind, he was watching us all the time, until we got on the plane back. Staying at Don David's inn was a success, although it is a little jarto to have to share the bathroom, but it is understood that it is not possible there. Too bad the weather conditions were not entirely good since we had flight delays. The organization of tourism, tours and others works well.

Everything about our trip to Caño Cristales was fantasic. Do yourself a favor and stay at Posada of Don David, it is the closest place to stay in Caño Cristales. You will save a lot of time not having to ride in a boat and 4x4 every time you go into Caño Cristales or other places in the vicinity. The five day trip was perfect, it allowed us a little flexibility to return to Caño Cristales when the sun was shining and the water receded. Also, La Laguna del Silencio and Caño Canoas are not to be missed. Armando and Nidia were fantasic hosts, and Pablo was the perfect guide for us. A true family affair. Iván and crew arranged everything for us, including our flights and shipping our extra baggage to the next city we were heading. Thank you again for an excellent trip.

The flight with the charter was pleasant and all well organized. Armando and his wife greeted us at the airport and were very attentive. Armando is a good guide who told us a lot and always tried to give us the best experience. For example, we continue in Cristalitos upwards because there were already many people below. It is important to understand that the food included in the plan is prepared by the people of the community and the menu is based on typical products of the region, avoid using products from other regions. If you wish you can ask the details of this menu and if you need or want food that is not from the area, we ask for your understanding and suggest that you take it as part of your luggage.
NOTE: Itineraries may be subject to change without prior notice by National Parks and Cormacarena.
If there are delays in the flights and you arrive at Macarena after 1:00 pm you cannot enter Caño Cristales that day and you will visit another tourist sector of the Macarena.
If there are advances in the departure flights from La Macarena or it leaves before 9 am, only the sunrise sighting activity will be carried out in Caño Cristales on the last day.
Colombia Oculta is not responsible for delays or advances in flights.

Additionally, Colombia Oculta makes a donation to the Cachivera County Community where the Park is located and to the Madre Selva Reservation Area for nature conservation.
It does not include the airport fee, which will cost around $6.000 COP AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY IT IN CASH AT THE AIRPORT.

No show and cancellation politics
To cancel a trip it must be done 5 days before the departure date and it will be returned 90%of the booking deposit, plus the additional deductions and penalties established by providers when the services are not used. The money return will be done within 30 calendar days after the claim is sent. If cancelation is not made at least 5 days before the trip, no money will be returned.
In case the traveler does not show up to the trip the day it starts, there is no money return.
In case the traveler does not fulfill with the agreed touristic services, for any reason, the Agency can claim the payment of 20% of the total cost or established price, or it can withhold the deposited money made previously by the client.
In the case of fortuitous events (extreme weather, natural disasters, landslides, transportation problems) that make to cancel a trip, Colombia Oculta will return 90% of the deposited money.
Booking and payment process

-Send us information about destination, dates, number of travelers and expectations.
-Let us know if you need help with plane tickets.
-Once confirmed the booking details, please select a payment method.
1. Deposit or transference to bank account: Deposit the amount at Banco de Bogotá. Cuenta corriente # 083347807 - Colombia Oculta SAS. Send the deposit form confirmation to reservas@colombiaoculta.org with all the passenger's information (full names, id numbers, nationality). If you make an international transference we will send you the bank details via email. The transference will charge an extra 5% of the deposited amount.
2. Pay via Credit Card: We will generate a PayU link for you to deposit. It will arrive at your e-mail with the total amount previously arrange with the Agency, including an extra 8% fee charged by the transference company. PayU is really effective and you don't have to register with their company.
